With all the new bells and whistles available in most BBQs these days, grill shopping can seem more like luxury car shopping. It can send folks running for a frying pan to cook that sirloin, rather than having to endure the headache of choosing a BBQ.
The grilling season will soon be upon us. Check out these handy tips on how to pick the perfect grill, and the curiosity of Napoleon Gourmet Grills.
You Get What You Pay For
In most cases, BBQs are priced according to quality. Do your research. But if you want a quality grill that’s going to last a while, be prepared to pay for it.
Buy local!
Canadian manufacturers have an outstanding reputation, and it also makes getting parts much easier!
Consider Size – Accessories and BTUs
Don’t go into buying blind. Think about what you will be cooking on your BBQ. How many people you will be cooking for and the space it will be sitting in. Going into a buy without planning can result in you getting the “ol’ car salesman” and buying something you don’t actually need.
Check the Warranty
Be sure to ask your dealer about what is/isn’t included in the warranty. A good warranty for grills will cover 10 years for burners, sear plates, as well as castings, which are the heart of your grill.
Stick to your budget and take care!
Think about what you can afford, as well as what you need. Take care of the unit you purchase. You won’t need to buy another one until technology changes again and you want the latest innovation!

Our next BBQ is going to be charcoal and propane, I would rather have one unit on my deck and not two, so we are saving our money for the next investment!!

I keep my eyes open at the end of year to see if there is one I’d like to buy…ours is really old, prob 10 yrs now? When they did the roof, they dropped something on the handle and broke it so its held together with duck tape. I haven’t found a new one yet as they old ones still doing the job, but it certainly could be replaced.
