Disclosure: I’m part of the Netflix Canada Stream Team, and I receive products and perks throughout the year. All opinions are my own.A few weeks ago I received a surprise email, inviting me to apply to become a member of the 2017 Stream Team. I accepted of course, and received a fabulous Welcome to the Canada Stream Team package.
My family are no strangers to Netflix. We’ve been loyal customers since Netflix streaming service arrived in Canada. We recently took the plunge and got rid of our cable TV, as we found we were watching Netflix a lot and very little cable channels. We love that the whole family can have their own profile. My youngest daughter enjoys watching shows like Shopkins, Glitter Force and Mutant Busters. My son who has severe Autism enjoys shows like Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Scaredy Squirrel. Our teenage daughter prefers Pokemon, Lego Nijago and Yu-gi-oh!
We recently took a road-trip to Ontario and had the opportunity to try out a relatively newer feature of Netflix that we had not used before. We downloaded some of the kids current favorite shows onto their tablets. So they could watch them while we were traveling. For the first time since we started doing longer trips for vacation, we got through the whole trip without a sustained, collective “Are we there yet?”. With each of the kids having their own profile and as many downloads as would fit on their tablet. (Netflix limits it to a Maximum of 100 episodes but that is plenty.) The kids allowed us to drive with far fewer distractions then normal and they enjoyed the videos immensely.
My favorite shows are Fuller house, Greys Anatonmy and I am loving the brand new show ATypical. As a parent with a child who has autism, I am extremely happy that Netflix are raising awareness.
