Over the years my son has developed an affinity for Batman. I’m not certain where it started, however, I believe one of the Vice Principals started it. My son had a batman toque and the Vice Principal (a very happy upbeat guy) started greeting him saying “how’s it going Batman.” My son is autistic non verbal and he clearly seemed to get a kick out of it, so the the VP continued it. It got to the point where among the few phrases my son would say was to go to the VP and say “How’s it going Batman”.
This led to getting him a couple other Batman merchandise, which my son loved and so my son developed an interest in the Batman character. We even had his picture taken with a Batman character at a local event. This was a major step, as our son does not often tolerate people in costumes.
