I was fortunate enough to be able to review the “When Miles Got Mad” book from The Mother Company.
My youngest daughter has O.D.D and O.C.D and is prone to having temper tantrums on a much larger scale, than your average toddler.
When Miles Got Mad
When his little brother breaks his favorite toy airplane, MILES GETS MAD. As his anger swells, he suddenly catches sight of himself in the mirror. But instead of his own reflection, he sees a furry red monster with big round eyes and funny teeth stares back at him. By encouraging Miles to use words to express his anger, the Mad Monster helps Miles move through this big emotion to calm himself. Through this fun story and adorable illustrations, this insightful and entertaining children’s book offers much-needed comfort to young children as they struggle to regulate their emotions.
My daughter thoroughly enjoyed this book and could easily relate to how Miles felt. The bright pictures helped keep my daughters attention while reading this book. I would recommend this book to any parent that has a child with anger management issues.
The Mother Company,a multi-media Children’s company devoted to “Helping Parents Raise Good People,” announces the release of their latest book entitled When Miles Got Mad, the hardcover book helps children ages 2-6 recognize, express and move through the often-overwhelming feeling of anger.
“We wanted to explore the very real out-of-control feeling children have when they experience deep anger. We want to encourage them to use their words to get through it,” says Abbie Schiller, The Mother Company’s Founder. “This book offers solutions in a fun, engaging way. It can be an invaluable resource for families struggling with tantrums and other big (and often scary) emotions. ” Adds Samantha Kurtzman-Counter, The Mother Company’s President and the book’s author.
