The best gift I got was a pair of skis. I watched my older sister and younger brother open present after present, I thought my parents had forgotten about me because I only got a couple of small gifts. Then when everything was done, my dad pulled the skis out of the closet. It was the best.

Being an only child I received a lot of pretty much everything I wanted growing up, but one that comes to mind is getting the newly released Nintendo, I was ecstatic and so were all my friends! my house was the popular house that year
I have a couple gifts that I received for Christmas that I will never forget! An easy bake oven (i would bake for hours in my room) and a barbie dream house with an elevator that went up and down

I received a doll and crib. That was a big deal for me. The year after that my mom made a new outfit for my doll.
I don’t really recall much about childhood gifts. I do remember repeatedly asking for Smashup Derby, which I did finally receive one year and then promptly lost pieces of the toy.

The gift that really stands out to me is a Punky Brewster doll. I wanted it so much and I ended up getting the flu just before Christmas. On Christmas morning, I got up, opened that one gift and crawled back to bed with Punky in my arms.

The best Holiday gift I received as a child was a pair of skis. I think they were actually cross country but that didn’t stop me from going to the biggest hill in our neighbourhood and learning to ski downhill.
Ageing myself but it was a Chrissy doll. Her hair could be short of long due to it hid within the head. She was about a foot tall too. I did get it for Xmas from Santa. I remember being shocked because we only got one gift back then & how did Santa know I wanted Chrissy so much. Good memories
I was desperate for a Barbie Trunk when I was 8. Not the smaller carrying case, but The Trunk. Big diff. I came across the smaller carrying case stashed in my parents’ closet while snooping, so was a bit desolate that I wasn’t getting The Trunk. Turns out the smaller case was for my brother, and I did get the big case. Sooo happy. Snooping doesn’t pay, kiddies.
My best christmas gift when I was a child was my table top hockey game.
We didn’t do Holiday gifts, but my favourite present as a child was a little silver necklace from my uncle. I still have it.

The best gift I ever got as a kid was the year we got a kitten. She was calico coloured and adorable. Her name was Buffy and she lived to be 18.
We were so spoiled and lucky. I think just walking around the corner to our family room (my sister and I) early in the morning and then having to wait till my parents woke was the best gift of all. We always had a huge pile of stuff and the unknown and magic beat any specific gift.
