Visit Pearl Harbor
One of the most popular tourist attractions in Hawaii is Pearl Harbor. It attracts lots of visitors and it’s easy to see why: there are several museums, memorials, and tours available that will keep you busy for days.
The USS Arizona Memorial is one of these attractions. It was built to commemorate those who died at Pearl Harbor during World War II. As well as honor all Americans who have served in any capacity since then. The Memorial includes exhibits about Halsey-Doolittle Raids on Japan (1942), rescue operations after Operation Crossroads nuclear test series (1946–47), Pacific campaigns against Japan during World War II (1941–1945), and more recent conflicts like Operation Iraqi Freedom (2003–2014).
Take An Air Boat Tour in Hawaii
If you want something less solemn than this monument but still want some history related to World War II while visiting Hawaii’s largest city. Then take an air-boat tour through Battleship Row, where several warships were sunk during attacks on December 7th, 1941. Including USS Arizona; USS Oklahoma; USS Tennessee; USS Arizona BB39 & California BB44 which took place before WWII ended. Afterwards became known as “Japan’s Pearl Harbor”! You’ll also learn about other important events such as the Japanese surrender announcement which happened on August 10th, 1945.
Luau is a Hawaiian celebration that dates back to ancient times. It’s mostly held on the shores of pristine beaches, where people gather together to dance and sing. The word luau comes from the Hawaiian word Lua, which means “to welcome.” The food served at a luau tends to be fresh and seasonal—but not always! Sometimes you’ll find yourself eating rice (Hawaiian style) or poi (fermented taro root). There’s also an emphasis on fish dishes like hula shrimp cocktail or baked snapper with tropical fruit salsa.
The clothing you wear depends on what kind of occasion you’re attending. For example, dress up if it’s a formal night at your favorite restaurant. Don’t worry too much about how formal your outfit looks. Unless it’s meant as part of something else (like going out dancing).
