It’s Time to Take your Health into your Own Hands!
Lately, there has been a lot of talk about self-care. As our lives get busier, prioritizing self-care becomes increasingly important. Many of us think of self-care as practicing yoga, a day at the spa or even spending quality time with friends. While these are all great ways to relax, there is much more to it!
The concept of self-care is about empowering individuals, families and communities to practice healthy habits, prevent disease and cope with illness or disability to achieve optimum health. Here are a few ways I practice self-care:
- Taking a hot relaxing bath to De-stress.
- Spending lots of time outside with my children during the summer, and Coppertone is one of my favorite go to products that helps prevent painful sunburns.
Because I love spending so much time outdoors. I always make sure that I have plenty of Claritin on hand to help manage my hay-fever allergies, that have been recurring since I was a child.
Hiking the trails at The Fundy National Park and I use Dr. Scholl’s in my shoes for the added cushion and comfort.

I practice self care by going for a walk every day – just being outside is great
I take a nice hot bubble bath, a glass of wine, some music on, candles & relax.
I rest when I need to.

I practise self care with a 12 minute daily meditation before bed. No matter how hectic the day has been, meditating before my head hits the pillow allows me to unwind and have a peaceful and deep sleep each night.
I practice self care by taking some time for myself and take a long bath or get a mani/pedi

I take our dog for a walk and make sure that I use sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
I practice selfcare by listening to my favourite music. The right music can really lift a mood.
I practice self-case by taking a quick short nap whenever possible and talking to a good friend when I am feeling down.
I practice self-care by taking time for myself every day if possible, usually reading a good book, going for a walk outside, taking a nice bath 🙂

I like to get up before the kids to get a few minutes of quiet in the morning. It’s the perfect time to have a hot cup of coffee.
I take vitamins.; drink plenty of water; eat lots of fresh vegetables.get 9-10 hours sleep. brain stim with books and crosswords & Sudoku. Express gratitude each day I wake up.
I practice self care by swimming and biking nearly every day. I love to walk a lot too and take care of my skin with lots of sunscreen. I almost always drink water with lemon slices in it and try to eat healthy .I think it’s important to rest too when my body tells me it’s tired and I try to listen. Another thing that is important to me in my self care routine is music. I love it and find it relaxing and uplifting.
I drink a lot of water and wear sunscreen, as well as work out.
I work out everyday, swim in the summer and take time for my self by enjoying my garden and my dogs.
